"BRASIL EXPORTA"
Once again, the Brazilian Posts combine convenience and modernity with the broadcasting of relevant information, with the issue of the "Brasil Exporta" self-adhesive stamp sheet let. Considering the great distinction of Brazilian exports in the world scene, the Federal Brazilian Government is implementing the "Brasil Exporta" Project, which has the purpose of creating an exports platform in global scale. The Project aims at organizing the exporting effort, through the formation of strategic alliances between companies, industries and government which, by turn, foments the exports sector by means of credit allowance and the promotion of forums, meetings and workgroups to integrate the companies involved. The planes manufactured by Embraer- Brazilian Aeronautics Enterprise - are illustrated in this issue as examples of the supremacy of Brazilian exports in the regional jets sector, which makes Embraer the world's fourth greatest manufacturer of commercial airplanes. In 1999, it conquered the first position in the rank of the greatest Brazilian export companies, with a 3,52% share Brazil's total exports, and a net income contribution of US$647 million to the Brazilian trade balance (around 36% of its revenue). In the regional jets sector, which includes the jets ERJ 135, ERJ 14Q. and ERJ 145, for 37, 44 and 50 passengers, respectively, Embraer is in the leadership position, with more than 1.13.9 units sold A new family of regional jets for 70, 98 and 108 passengers, designated as ERJ 170, ERJ 190-100 and ERJ190-200, respectively, is being developed and already counts with a total of 325 units sold The first delivery of the ERJ 170 ,is scheduled for 2002. In regard to the defense market, Embraer is developing the following planes: EMB 145 AEW&C (advanced warning), EMB 145 RS (remote sensoring) e EMB 145 MP (maritime patrol), all based in the platform of the ERJ 145 regional jet, besides the Super Tucan and its light attack version, the ALX.
