BOTAFOGO DE FUTEBALL AND REGATAS O Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas é o resultado da fusão do Club de Regatas Botafogo com o Botafogo Football Club, dois clubes de mesmo nome, situados no mesmo bairro, ambos alvinegros. No ano de 1994, o Botafogo comemorou o seu centenário, além de festejar 90 anos de atividades futebolísticas, nas quais acumulou inúmeras glórias trazendo para o Brasil conquistas magníficas, bem como brilhou em diversas modalidades esportivas, enchendo de orgulho e satisfação os corações dos milhares de adeptos que possui em todo o território nacional. O Botafogo conquistou o Campeonato Carioca de Futebol por 16 vezes, sendo o único Tetracampeão do Rio de Janeiro (1932, 1933, 1934, 1935), além de ser detentor de 2 Taças Guanabara (1967, 1968), 3 Torneios Rio-São Paulo (1962, 1964, 1966), 1 Taça Brasil (1968) e 1 Copa Conmebol (1993), esta última, disputada entre clubes sul-americanos. A contribuição do Botafogo foi decisiva para a conquista do Tricampeonato Mundial de Futebol pelo Brasil (1958, 1962, 1970), quando foi a base das três magníficas equipes formadas, inclusive fornecendo os principais integrantes das respectivas Comissões Técnicas. Garrincha, Nilton Santos, Didi, Zagalo, Jairzinho, Roberto e Paulo César maravilharam o mundo, exibindo a grande categoria do futebol brasileiro, confirmando a fama de celeiro de craques desfrutada pelo clube de General Severiano. Com sua principal sede - General Severiano - localizada em lugar privilegiado do Rio de Janeiro, o Botafogo construiu no terreno onde se situava o seu antigo estádio de futebol um magnífico e moderno parque esportivo, o que forjará o surgimento de grandes atletas em todos os esportes, trazendo para o clube e para o Brasil novas glórias.
BOTAFOGO DE FUTEBOL E REGATAS The Botafogo Football and Regatta Club is the merging of the Botafogo Regatta Club with the Botafogo Football Club, two clubs with the same name, located in the same neighborhood, both carrying the same white and black colors. In 1994, Botafogo has celebrated its centenary and its 90 years of football activities during which it has accumulated a number of glories, giving Brazil magnificent conquests in other kinds of sports as well, filling with pride and satisfaction the hearts of thousands of followers that it has all over the country. Botafogo has won the Rio de Janeiro Football Cup for 16 times. It is the only tetra champion of the Rio de Janeiro contest (1932,1933,1934,1935); the holder of 2 Guanabara Cups (1967,1968), of 3 Rio/São Paulo contests (1962,1964,1966), of 1 Brazil Cup (1968) and of the Conmebol Cup (1993), this latter disputed by Latin-American clubs. The contribution of Botafogo was decisive for the Brazil's conquest of the World Football Trichampionship (1958,1962,1970), since its players formed the basis of the three extraordinary national teams and the club provided the respective technical commissions with its own major members. Garrincha, Nilton Santos, Didi, Zagalo, Jairzinho, Roberto and Paulo César marveled the world by showing the great category of Brazilian football. The club confirmed its well deserved fame of aces' barn. Within its headquarters - General Severiano -located in a prime area in Rio de Janeiro, Botafogo constructed in the place that was situated its former football stadium a magnificent sports park.
