MAMÃO - De provável origem brasileira, o mamão é fruto de uma planta de crescimento rápido, que alcança de 3 a 6 metros de altura. O peso do mamão varia de 1 a 10 quilos. E produzido com sucesso em regiões de clima quente e úmido, já que sua planta não tolera geadas. Possui polpa doce, alaranjada, suculenta e aromática. O fruto verde é excelente legume, cozido ou guisado, e ingrediente bastante utilizado em doces em calda e cristalizados. O mamão é também muito consumido ao natural quando maduro, já que é rico em vitaminas.
